Since 1997, fashion designer Jeremy Scott has been creating wearable works of art with collections that change dramatically from season to season. His outlandish designs have garnered a devoted following, and he has dressed some of the most iconic film, music, and performance artists of our time including Bjork, Kanye West, Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, and Rihanna. Scott has also brought his revolutionary vision to a host of footwear and accessory houses including Christian Louboutin, Adidas, and Lonchamps.
Scott has worked and shown his collection in both New York and Paris, and is intimately familiar with the Pop and Surrealist art that influences his work. This personal understanding of what drives creativity in both cities, as well as his clear connection to some of the art movements born at the time of Normandie’s creation made him the perfect partner to design the exhibition’s commemorative shirt.
A limited number of these shirts are available for purchase exclusively in the South Street Seaport museum store. Please call 212-748-8733.
